Meet our Board Members

Meet our Board Members who volunteer their time to make this organization work!

  • Warren Luce - Executive Director

Warren’s business experience includes 22 years of management positions with Pacific Telephone and ATT plus 13 years as co-founder of a software company. He has served on boards of two other non-profits and is currently the Executive Director of the Steamboat Tennis Association. Warren has enjoyed tennis for many years and is particularly invested in helping to educate youth through the healthy sport of tennis.

  • Jan Theadore - President

Jan is the president of the STA board. She is a former teacher, counselor and high school principal. Jan teaches the life skills class in our SERVES program and loves to play tennis and ski.

  • Bo Stempel - Vice President

Bo and Susan moved to Steamboat because they fell in love with the town while playing in a tennis tournament. Like many small towns Steamboat is friendly and welcoming.  He joined the STA board in 2007 and was president of the board from 2010 through 2021.  He really believes in our ability to help young folks experience the opportunity to learn a life time sport.

  • Bert Halberstadt - Secretary

Bert has grown with "the STA kids" for over 12 years as a volunteer and Board member, enjoying the challenges and growth.  When not so occupied, he also serves on the Har Mishpacha Board (past president) and Piknik Theatre Board, and is an active Emeritus Attorney and former judiciary member of the Delaware Bar.  Some think he is a would-be senior tennis hustler.

  • Debbie Lundeen - Communications Director

Debbie moved to Steamboat in 2012 with her husband David and son Roy. Roy grew up playing tennis here and Debbie saw firsthand the relationship between tennis and life skills. Although a chemical engineer by training, her passion has always been helping children exceed expectations. She tutored math for years and is currently enjoying her role in helping with the life skills in the SERVES program.

  • Emilie Rogers - Student Travel Coordinator and Youth Coach

Emilie has lived in Steamboat for 23 years. As an avid tennis player, her family chose Steamboat because of the wonderful tennis community. The STA's mission to support young tennis players is what fuels the future of tennis in our community.

  • John Paulus - Adaptive Program Coordinator

John moved to Steamboat in 2011. Although he doesn’t describe himself as an avid tennis player, he does enjoy the sport and the many friends he’s made over the years at the center. He very much enjoys being part of an organization that solely supports youth tennis. He loves volunteering on court, working with our kids.

  • Wade Wykert - Event Coordinator

Wade, board member since 2018, appreciates the community of Steamboat that supports so many worthwhile enrichment programs. The STA community integrates and funds  tennis, life lessons, high school tennis competition as well as lessons. His reward is observing the maturation process.

  • Ann Coon - Education Liaison

Ann has lived in Steamboat Springs for 31 years with husband Geoff and sons Jack, William and Lucas.
