Free Youth Beginner Tennis Camps Were a Fun Introduction

Fifty-four young athletes from ages 5-18 were introduced to the healthy lifetime sport of tennis at the STA’s Free Youth Beginner Tennis Camps on Saturday, May 14. Many of the kids had never tried tennis before and this was their introduction. The laughter and smiles were the signs that many had found a new sport in their lives!

The STA’s Adaptive Youth Tennis Program begin on Friday, May 6! With partners from Yampa Valley Autism Program and many great volunteers, there was a lot of action on the courts. Thank you to everyone who makes this program a success!

The Steamboat Tennis Association (STA) is dedicated to improving the lives of youth through tennis and helping to support the entire community. This event is their largest fundraiser. Don’t miss the silent and live auctions. Coach Dick Gould of Stanford University will join the Steamboat community at the Swiggart Family Appreciation Party on Saturday night at the Tennis Center. Coach Gould, recently awarded Coach of the Century from the PAC 12,  will be the featured speaker at the live auction dinner taking place Sunday evening at the Steamboat Community Center.

Wheelworks Wheelchair Tennis Training

Wheelworks Wheelchair Tennis Training with guest coaches Rich Berman and Bill Trubey was a great event. Twenty-seven adults and eight high level juniors participated in the event on Thursday, Nov. 5.

STA’s Free Beginner Jr Holiday Tennis Camps

If you know children who would love to ‘try’ tennis, please tell them about the STA’s Free Beginner Jr Holiday Tennis Camps. The camps will be held Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 29 and 30.

Youth ages 5-11 should come 9-10 am and youth ages 12-18 should come 10:30-11:30 am. Please register your child/ren by calling the Tennis Center at 970-879-8400.

If your child enjoys the experience, the STA will be offering a Buy One Month of Jr Tennis Academy and Get One Free!
